- Landscape study showing a view of the Great Aletsch Glacier in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland. Viewed from an elevated perspective, the glacier curves through an alpine valley from lower right to upper center. In the immediate foreground at left and center, nearby hillsides and treetops are visible. In the distance at left, the serrated peaks of Aletschhorn are shown bathed in pinkish sunlight, while other jagged mountains form the horizon at right.
