Excavated in 1917 by archaeologist George Hubbard Pepper (1873-1924, MAI staff member) on the estate of Joseph S. Auerbach (1855-1944) and retained by Mr. Auerbach; donated to MAI by Joseph S. Auerbach, probably in 1918.
