Formerly owned by Harkins (Choctaw); given to Dr. Joseph L. Jones (1833-1896, New Orleans, Louisiana) by Harkins in 1886 (perhaps at the close of the North, Central, and South American Exposition held in New Orleans 1885-1886); purchased by George Heye from Dr. Jones's widow, Susan Polk Jones (1842-1921), in 1906.
