Purchased by Paulette Fairbanks Molin (White Earth Chippewa) and her husband Lawrence Molin from the artist in 1987 at the Southwest Indian Arts Association's Indian Market (Santa Fe, New Mexico); donated to NMAI by Lawrence Molin and Paulette Fairbanks Molin in 2018 in honor of James D. Fairbanks (White Earth Chippewa, 1952-2011, thirteenth Force Master Chief Petty Officer of the Seabees) and his brothers and sisters in service.
