- Collected between 1790 and 1795 by British Army officer Major Andrew Foster (1768-1806) at Fort Miami or Fort Michilimackinac; inherited by his family and maintained in their possession until 1967 when it was purchased by George Terasaki (a New York art dealer) from Dr. Charles A. Foster; acquired by MAI through an exchange with George Terasaki in 1967.
