Collection history unknown; probably from the collection of Marion Eppley (1883-1960, a US Navy captain during World Wars I and II and founder of the Eppley Laboratory of Newport, Rhode Island, makers of precision scientific instruments); donated to MAI by Constance Eppley (Mrs. Marion Eppley, 1899-1983) in 1966.
