- Collection history unknown; possibly collected by James Gaston Brown (1827-1905, a merchant in St. Louis, Missouri, and New York City) during travel to Alaska in the 1880s; inherited by his grandson, designer and architectural historian Lars Gaston Axelsson DeLagerberg (1887-1962); donated to MAI by Lars DeLagerberg's widow Lucy Wallace DeLagerberg (1884-1965) in 1965 in memory of Lars DeLagerberg.
