Collection history unknown, but said to have been brought to England in the late 1880s ; formerly in the collection of Beatrice Minnie Cooper Kauper (Mrs. Henry Alexis Kauper, 1896-1968, of Surrey, England); purchased by MAI from Beatrice Kauper in 1964 with funds donated by MAI Trustee Stanley R. Grant (1918-1993).
