Collection History
Said to have been made for Rudolph J. Schaefer (1863-1923) circa 1908 by Indian members of the Buffalo Bill troupe during appearances at Madison Square Garden, New York City; inherited by Rudolph Schaefer's son Frederick M. E. Schaefer (1892-1976); donated to MAI by Frederick M. E. Schaefer (1892-1976) in 1962 in memory of his father.
