Said to have been collected circa 1887 by an unnamed doctor; formerly in the collection of Phoenix, Arizona, collectors Lyston S. Black (1889-1966) and his wife Margaret Black (1896-1976); acquired by Native art collector Byron Harvey III (1932-2005) at an unknown date; purchased by MAI from Byron Harvey III in 1963.
