- Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Major General Leonard Wood (1860-1927), a U.S. Army physician who served in Southwestern campaigns against the Apache and as Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, and was later Military Governor of Cuba and Governor General of the Philippines; purchased by William F. Stiles (1912-1980, MAI curator) at an auction of items from Major General Wood's estate circa 1960; purchased by MAI from William Stiles in 1962.
