Collection history unknown; probably acquired by Harriet E. Boyce (Mrs. John Jewett Boyce, 1855-1947) between 1887 and 1904 during travel to Alaska with her husband; donated by Harriet Boyce to the St. Louis Museum (associated with Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri) after 1904; purchased by MAI from Washington University in 1960.
