Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Edwin W. Countryman (1872-1946, a Buffalo, New York, attorney); acquired by Reuben B. Oldfield (1878-1954, a collector of Indian items from Bath, New York) at an unknown date; purchased from Reuben Oldfield by Thomas J. Watson (1874-1956, Chairman and CEO of IBM) in 1947; transferred to the IBM Gallery of Arts and Sciences at an unknown date; donated to MAI by the IBM Gallery of Arts and Sciences in 1960.
