Collected between 1890 and 1906 by Italian composer Domenico Brescia (1866-1939), who lived and worked in Ecuador and Chile between 1890 and 1911; inherited by his daughter, Emma Brescia Warren (Emma Brescia Gardner, 1902-1968); donated to MAI by Dr. Emma Brescia Warren in 1958 in memory of her father.
