Collected by General Nelson A. Miles (1839-1925, U.S. Army), probably during campaigns in the Southwest between 1886 and 1890; inherited by his children, Major General Sherman Miles (1882-1966) and Cecelia Miles Reber (Mrs. Samuel K. Reber, 1869-1952); donated to MAI by Major General Sherman Miles in 1953 in memory of Cecelia Miles Reber.
