Collection history unknown; probably purchased from local residents in 1949 or 1950 by Major Jacob A.L. Möller (1883-1957, a collector of Latin American antiquities and a New York City manufacturer and importer) during a stay in Mérida, Mexico; donated to MAI by Major Möller in 1950.
