Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of William Benezet Bogert (1860-1948, a Chicago area businessman); inherited by his children, Theodore L. Bogert (1889-1968) and Frances H.B. Clinch (1892-1985); donated to MAI by Theodore Bogert and Frances Clinch in 1949 in memory of their father.
