Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Walter A. Stevens (1831-1907), who traveled across country before settling in Chicago, Illinois, and becoming a dentist; inherited by his wife Elnora Victoria Richards Stevens (1838-1930) and daughter Genevieve I. Stevens (1872-1954); purchased by MAI from Elnora Stevens and Genevieve Stevens in 1925.
