Excavated between 1902 and 1908 by amateur archaeologist Ernst Reinhold Steinbrueck (1836-1918) for the State Historical Society of North Dakota (Bismarck, North Dakota); purchased by MAI from the State Historical Society of North Dakota in 1925.
