Collected from Old Coyote (Apsáalooke) between 1918 and 1921 by anthropologist William (Willem) Wildschut (1883-1955); purchased by MAI from William Wildschut in 1921 using funds donated by MAI trustee Harmon W. Hendricks (1846-1928).
