- Collection history unknown, but said to have been obtained from a Doyon chief; formerly in the collection of Major Charles H. Bonesteel (1851-1902, US Army, 21st Infantry); presented by him to the Long Island Historical Society in 1886; lent by the Long Island Historical Society to MAI in 1920; donated to NMAI by the Brooklyn Historical Society in 2020.
